SPECTRONICS CORPORATION ANNOUNCES SALE OF NDT/UV LIGHTING BUSINESS UNIT TO TEN OAKS GROUP

Spectronics Corporation is pleased to announce the sale of its NDT, Specialty, and UV Sanitizing divisions to Ten Oaks Group, a family investment office exclusively focused on corporate divestitures. The new company will operate under the name Spectro-UV.

Spectro-UV will operate the existing non-destructive testing product portfolio going forward as well as all existing product lines within the Specialty division, including life sciences, curing, forensic, mineral inspection and pest control. Further, Spectro-UV will operate the existing UV sanitizer product line, including the CellBlaster (UV cell phone sanitizer), the DeGERM-inator (portable UV sanitizer), and germicidal UV cabinets. Spectro-UV will continue to sell under the Spectroline brand name in the NDT, Specialty, and UV Sanitizing end markets.

“UV product lines have been a part of our family business for over six decades, and we are excited to see Ten Oaks pursue the next phase of growth for these products. This divestiture will allow Spectronics to focus on our core portfolio of leak detection products for the automotive, HVAC/R and industrial sectors, where our company has been market leaders since we invented fluorescent leak detection in 1955,” said Jon Cooper, President of Spectronics Corporation.

Anthony Lorubbio will serve as Chief Executive Officer. Prior to Spectro-UV, Anthony was Chief Transformation Officer at Ten Oaks’ refrigeration products platform, and was previously Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Theobald & Oppenheimer, a specialty beverage manufacturer. Anthony has a bachelor’s degree in information systems and business administration from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University.

“Spectroline is a clear leader in the non-destructive testing and specialty UV markets, and Spectro-UV is well positioned to capitalize on this incumbent market leadership, including UV sanitizing products,” Anthony said.

Spectro-UV will be headquartered in Farmingdale, New York.
